Everton suffered their third successive defeat on Thursday night as they were beaten 3-0 by Atalanta in their opening Europa League group match, and Toffees fans are beginning to turn on manager Ronald Koeman with the Dutchman likely to be under pressure if the poor results continue.
The Merseyside outfit would have felt before the game that they had a good chance of advancing through to the group stages and potentially even winning the competition, but they will have to perform much better than they did in Italy if they are to have any chance of doing that.
The miserable showing came off the back of 2-0 and 3-0 defeats to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur respectively in the Premier League, and Koeman’s side are seemingly struggling to gel after a number of new signings arrived during the summer transfer window.
A lack of goals, pace, urgency and creativity are some of the biggest problems throughout the team right now, and things certainly aren’t going to get any easier when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Everton supporters were quick to have their say on their boss via social media after the latest loss, with some desrcribing him as “clueless” and others saying they ‘miss David Moyes’.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
