Ex-Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has surprised fans in Japan while paying a visit to J League 2 side RB Omiya Ardija, as part of his role with Red Bull.

The 57-year-old German, who brought his memorable tenure at Anfield to a close in the summer of 2024, is now Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull. His new position, which puts his leadership skills to the test, is seeing him work with a network of sporting enterprises around the world.

While RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg and MLS side the New York Red Bulls are the most prominent teams in the Red Bull stable, they are also involved with franchises in the Far East. Klopp has taken the opportunity to head for that part of the world.

He was given a warm reception by locals when attending the J League 2 seasons opener for RB Omiya Ardija. While in Saitama City, Klopp took the chance to get out and see the sights – while also taking in the Tokyo nightlife.
WHAT JURGEN KLOPP SAID
Klopp thoroughly enjoyed his time in Japan, having never previously visited the country across his spells in charge of Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool. He said in a social media post: “My first time in Japan was an incredible experience! What a vibe.”
