Tottenham Hotspur failed to land a single new addition during the summer transfer window but Mauricio Pochettino looks set to enjoy better fortunes in January.
With Mousa Dembele’s long-term future looking likely to be away from North London, the Lilywhites have been linked to new midfield additions – but the two most recent targets, Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot and FC Porto’s Hector Herrera, offer very different things to Pochettino’s side.
Rabiot, rated at £45m by Transfermarkt, can be seen as a long-term asset due to his age of just 23 and would signal a major coup for Pochettino’s side, while Herrera is a player who can provide the experience that Spurs would lose if Dembele completed an exit.

With Tottenham thriving on fresh, young talent that has developed under Pochettino, Rabiot certainly stands as the best fit for the club but Herrera could be available for a cut-price fee in January as his contract is due to expire next summer.
So, Tottenham fans, should Rabiot be the midfielder you sign in January? Or is Hector Herrera the man you want at your club? Have your say in our poll below…
