Everton fans are delighted with the club’s transfer activity so far this summer, but a trip down memory lane has got some missing Steven Naismith.
On Sunday, the Toffees posted a video on Twitter showing Naismith’s goal against Arsenal along with a countdown to the start of the Premier League campaign.
The Scotsman, who spent four years at Goodison Park before leaving in 2016 to join Norwich City, was on target in a 3-0 win over Arsenal in the 2013-14 season.
Plenty of fans reacted to the post by discussing their love for Naismith, and some wished that he never left.
During his time at Everton, Naismith scored 18 Premier League goals in 103 outings.
Everton now have a new-look attacking line following the arrival of Sandro Ramirez and return of boyhood fan Wayne Rooney.
It has been widely reported that manager Ronald Koeman wants to bring in another forward following the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
Everton have spent almost £100m bringing in Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru, Michael Keane, Ramirez and Rooney.
