The 24-year-old secured Arsenal a 2-1 win over Brentford at the Emirates on Saturday thanks to his late header. While he was delighted at the three points, that took the Gunners top of the Premier League, the German international cut a frustrated figure when asked by former Liverpool midfielder and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp where he is best suited on the pitch – a question that has dogged him for quite some time.

On Sky Sports, the former Chelsea man said: "I don't know how many times I answered this question already. I'm just happy to be on the pitch. I'm not a player who only plays in one position. Sometimes it's good, sometimes its bad, but it suits me quite well. I just love it in this team. I love to play as the false nine, the eight, as the No10, wherever you want me to go. In Germany. I played as a left-back as well, so it's all good."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Havertz joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for £65 million ($83.5m) and initially, question marks were raised over whether he was living up to that hefty price tag after some quiet performances. However, the German has scored four goals in as many league games, along with two assists, and is proving his worth as a false nine and attacking midfielder. His goals could be key in the Gunners' bid to win a long-awaited Premier League title.
WHAT NEXT?
Arsenal return to Champions League action on Tuesday when they host FC Porto in the second leg of their last 16 tie. The Gunners lost the first leg in Portugal 1-0 and will be hoping to overturn that deficit and advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.
