Leeds are preparing a bid to sign Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster on loan in January, according to Football Insider.
What’s the word?
The 19-year-old has been highly-rated ever since he won the golden boot at the 2017 U17s World Cup, and though he has limited professional experience there are still multiple clubs interested in his signature.
Crystal Palace, Bristol City and Swansea, were linked with a move in October, and the revelation from Football Insider that Jurgen Klopp is prepared to let him leave means there could be a transfer battle on the cards.
Leeds are trying to get ahead in that race as they are looking to sit down with Liverpool representatives this week in order to begin discussions over a temporary deal, though Marcelo Bielsa’s under-use of Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah may deter them from agreeing such a proposal.

Life without Nketiah?
Brewster is similar to the Arsenal forward in terms of being a young player at a big club with a lot to prove, and he should therefore relish joining a side in a title race and playing under a brilliant manager at Leeds.
Nketiah differs in playing style and is more of a poacher, but that may mean the Liverpool man would feature more regularly under the Argentine if he joined, as he has a more complete game which has seen him operate as a midfielder as well as a forward in the past.
A true test for any Leeds fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
Nketiah’s lack of contribution other than goals – with five this season – is perhaps why he hasn’t been fancied by his manager despite the appreciation shown to him by fans. He is still yet to make a league start and that could lead to his recall in January.
With his future uncertain the club is right to begin planning for life without him, and bringing in Brewster makes a lot of sense due to his form as a youth player – scoring five goals in 11 games for Liverpool U23s this term.
Noel Whelan also suggests that he could fit in well due to the similarities in the style between Liverpool and Leeds, with high intensity and a focus on attack the priority for both teams, and the former Leeds player believes that could sway Jurgen Klopp’s decision-making in regard to where he ends up.
Elsewhere, Leeds supporters have been discussing a former player from the beginning of the decade whom they have fond memories of.
