As reported by The Sunday Express, Jose Mourinho is set to be staying at Manchester United for a considerable period of time with the club ready to offer him a bumper 5 year contract at Old Trafford.
What’s the story?
Mourinho guided United to two major honours in his first season in charge, the English League Cup and UEFA Europa League, and now the club believe he is the man to lead them forward into a new era of success.
The Express say that Man United chiefs are so impressed with the impact he has made at the club that they are preparing to offer him a five-year deal which they hope will be signed before the squad return for pre-season training.
Also on offer to the Portuguese, say the paper, is a massive £200m this summer as he looks to build a squad capable of competing for silverware in the UEFA Champions League and English Premier League.
Mourinho had earlier this week urged Ed Woodward to get cracking on signing the targets he wants.
As quoted by The Express, the Old Trafford boss said:
He knows since March who I want, what I want, how much I want – he knows everything since March. And now it’s for him to work because he will have holidays in August, and in August I am working.
Are exciting times on the horizon in Manchester? Or are they putting all their eggs in the wrong basket?
