Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to social media to slam one of their players this week.
In the build-up to their match with Charlton Athletic this afternoon, Barry Bannan launched a scathing attack on his teammate Fernando Forestieri which suggested that he needs to work harder in training if he is to be selected in manager Garry Monk’s starting line up.
The 29-year-old forward is yet to start a game under Monk since he took charge in September, although his impact in midweek will have given the Owls chief plenty to think about.
However, some fans at Hillsborough have been angered by his comments.
Bannan was lambasted as a ‘serial loser’ and ‘poor’ by a couple of supporters while one believed it wasn’t his place to call out a fellow teammate in such a damning manner.
A further member of the south Yorkshire fanbase said that the experienced midfielder should concentrate on his own game with another suggesting that he should look to Dominic Iorfa for inspiration on how to conduct himself.
