Keeper joined Forest from Arsenal in 2023Yet to convince during time at the City GroundAnother transfer window now open in EnglandGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
The United States international has been enduring serious difficulties with the ball at his feet, with a flaw in his game being exposed during regular Premier League outings. Turner’s shot-stopping ability has never been questioned, but his distribution is causing problems at the City Ground – following a move from Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

The U.S. camp will be noting those struggles, with several contenders vying to fill their No.1 spot, and Turner has work to do in order to cement his standing as first-choice for his country. Improvement at club level would aid that cause, providing that Forest do not sign another new keeper in January.
WHAT TWELLMAN SAID ABOUT TURNER
Former USMNT star Taylor Twellman believes Turner is capable of silencing any doubters and proving his worth, but concedes that he needs to focus more on his strengths and take fewer risks when it comes to playing out from the back. He has posted on social media: “If he just keeps it simple with his feet, he will be very good. ‘Stay in his lane’ type of thing.”
WHAT NEXT FOR TURNER?
Turner is a confident character and eager to avoid dwelling on events of the past, but he will be fully aware that another transfer window is open in England and that he needs to raise his game in order to avoid slipping down the domestic pecking order in Nottingham.
