Despite only being appointed two months ago, Valerien Ismael is under pressure at the Championship side due to their miserable results and reports that Rooney is in the frame to replace him and could be offered the job should they decide to make a change.

Rooney was sacked by Plymouth Argyle at the end of last year after a disastrous spell in charge that saw them take five wins from 25 matches, leaving them bottom of the Championship. That came after a disastrous 15-game long spell at Birmingham City, with the ex-Manchester United star having previously managed DC United and Derby County.
